Cluj-Napoca, 7 august 2014 – One of the worst mining accidents in recent years occurred in Canada where the tailings dam (TMF) of the Mount Polley gold and copper mine failed. Since 4 August, over 10 million cubic meters of water and 4.5 million tons of toxic slurry have been escaping into river and lakes situated in B.C’s Cariboo district.
