Rosia Montana's new urbanism plans – a new threat for RMGC mine proposal in Romania (TSX:GBU)

Rosia Montana, 6. August 2014 – Rosia Montana’s City Hall recently announced that it would put in place a new general urbanism plan (PUG), as its predecessor which was adopted in 2002, expired in spring. According to legislation applicable both in Romania and within the EU, the approval procedure for any urbanism plans ensures access to information and public participation opportunities.

Rosia Montana, 16. April 2014  – Two judgments, both of which are very important for Rosia Montana, were released yesterday. The first relates to the annulment of the environmental avis for ‘RMGC’s modified Zoning Plan for the Industrial Development area.’ The second rejected an appeal submitted by the project owner about suspending the archaeological discharge for Rosia Montana’s Carnic Massif.

The event is dedicated to the existing exceptional cultural and natural heritage of Rosia Montana and will take place in 40 cities from more than 10 countries worldwide.

29. November 2013 - The relationship between the state authorities and the mining company which intends to exploit with cyanide the gold and silver deposits from Rosia Montana has always been marked by total lack of transparency. The fact that the local or central institutions refuse to provide public information, as specified by the law, puts under suspicion the alleged impartiality of the authorities in treating the process of approval of the operations of the mining company.

Open letter ref. the Rosia Montana mine proposal to the American vice president Biden

22. October 2013 - The Rosia Montana Washington DC group sent on October 22nd an open letter to the American vice president Joe Biden reffering to the Rosia Montana mining project. The Romanian prime minister met Biden during Ponta's official visit to the United States. During the meeting, several protestars against cynide gold-mining demonstrated in front of the White House.
